Book: Pick a Circle, Gather Squares: A Fall Harvest of Shapes by Felicia Sanzari Chernesky
A young boy and girl go with their dad to a pumpkin patch. They see many different shapes in various objects around the farm. For example, triangles are represented by apple pie wedges. The shapes children find include circles, stars, triangles, hexagons, diamonds, rectangles and squares. This is a good book to help children recognize and learn basic shapes.
